Optical Sentiments creates contemporary artwork where art and science come together through a process of experimentation, observation and curiosity. Each piece is part of “Fusence”, a body of work shaped by the fusion of creative inspiration and scientific thinking.
Every design begins with real, physical objects. These are explored and transformed through a considered process that looks closely at structure, pattern, light and detail. As the work develops, the original object may become obscured or abstracted, shifting the viewer’s focus away from what the object is and towards what it suggests. What you see is not always what you think it might be.
The process is deliberate but exploratory. There is room for testing, adjustment and discovery, allowing unexpected outcomes to play a role in the final piece. Scientific ideas around observation and process sit alongside creative decision making, resulting in work that feels both structured and expressive.
The finished artwork is always designed to take the viewer somewhere else. It invites people to pause, look more closely and allow their mind to drift. Some are drawn in by the colour or form, others enjoy uncovering the layers and stories behind the work. Both experiences are intentional.
Fusence is about opening up new ways of seeing. It turns familiar materials into something less defined and more imaginative, creating artwork that feels inspiring, thoughtful and a little unexpected in everyday spaces.
